The truth is that Thanksgiving is also a big feast about the meal itself. Many of us dream of juicy turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, green bean casseroles, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pies

It is also a good time to consider your family member's health, including yourself. Faced with mounds of delicious food the rules you normally follow seem not to work! It's so easy for you to indulge with food. What should we do? How can we avoid overindulging?

If you are going to have your Thanksgiving dinner at other people’s home offer to prepare some healthy appetizers, side dishes, snacks, take one or two with you, such as low fat potato and leek casserole, they are delicious and healthy. Your host may likely appreciate the extra help.

A few inventive recipes you can prepare and host a healthy Thanksgiving that tastes delicious to those guests that may not be health conscious. You could even invite them to bring one of their favorites dishes to help keep everyone happy.

Turkey is usually the main so why not invite some of your relatives to bring a side dish. That way you cover all the bases and your sister can feature her famous garlic mashed potatoes and keep everyone happy.
